MTN Rwanda has confirmed that its internet services experienced disruptions on Wednesday, November 12, leaving many users unable to connect.
In a public statement, the telecom operator explained that the issue stemmed from an outage affecting international links through Uganda and Tanzania. “Our technical teams are working diligently to restore full connectivity as soon as possible. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the company said.
The disruptions reportedly began around 10 a.m. This incident comes just months after MTN Rwanda was fined several tens of millions of Rwandan francs by the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) in July for failing to meet required service standards.
