Sidi Ould Tah (Mauritania) is a distinguished economist and development finance expert who assumed office as the ninth President of the African Development Bank on 1 September 2025. Born in 1964 in Mederdra, he holds a PhD in Economics from Université Nice‑Sophia‑Antipolis and advanced degrees from the University of Paris VII and the University of Nouakchott. His career spans over three decades in public service and international finance, including senior roles as Mauritania’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, and nearly a decade leading the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) as Director General. Ould Tah is recognized for his strategic leadership, institutional development expertise, and commitment to mobilizing resources for sustainable growth across Africa, reflecting his reputation as a trusted and visionary figure in continental development finance.
